International Business Networking

With the support of the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs, Infrastructure, Transport and Technology (StMWIVT) and in collaboration with the Bavaria Employers Association (bfz) the Kenya Renewable Energy Association invited 15 Kenyans representing renewable energy and energy efficiency business, policy makers and educational/research institutions, to participate in a one week business and study visit to Bavaria, Germany from 9th to 16th of September 2012.

The objective of the visit was to establish a business-to-business network by initializing contacts between Kenyan and Bavarian companies. The areas covered were: Net Metering – Solar PV, Energy Efficiency in Building (systems and technologies), Industrial Energy Efficiency, Industrial Biomass technologies, Waste to Energy technologies, Co-generation

The StMWIVT covered the costs for accommodation, meals and transportation in Bavaria; while the Kenyan participants paid their return air fare to Munich, Germany.

The visit was an excellent opportunity for Kenyan energy entrepreneurs to gather more knowledge, establish business interests and enhance their companies.
